COLLECTIONS, ACCUMULATIONS & STOCKS — United States
LotConditionDescriptionValue/Bidding
125*oOne long time collector’s postal stationery collection to 2012 in 25 expensive binders. From old to modern comprising entires, postal cards, and air letter sheets. Not much power in the oldies as he was a much more serious modern collector. Includes mint, used, time period used, and odd and unusual. Fills five cartons and a medium carton of yet to be filed entires. The fact that everything is figured into the catalog value has been taken into account with the reasonable starting bid.Cat. Value: Owner’s cat. 16,900.00
Price Realized: $650.00
126*oCollection as consigned in four binders. First is a clean Scott National 1847-1988 well filled, mint 1929-1988. Second is a mint blocks of four collection 1923-1932 mounted with photo corners. And lastly a two volume (definitive/commemorative) 1847-1974 White Ace group that is very well filled 1930-1974 with enough value, in face and high catalog mint definitive sets, to make examination worthwhile.Cat. Value: S.B. 600.00
Price Realized: $1,050.00
127*oA compact collection of 19th and 20th century mint and used. The 19th century is primarily used including numbers 91, 95, and 155. The 20th century is mainly mint holding 1920-1930’s commems and regular issues including a Kansas-Nebraska set, Farleys and a small batch of Savings stamps. Identification can be a little optimistic and condition is quite mixed. Still solid value here and there. Take your time viewing to find the few diamonds in the rough.Cat. Value: S.B. 600.00
Price Realized: $1,300.00
128*oTwo carton accumulation of albums, stockbooks, and shoeboxes put together as a “floor sweepings” lot by a dealer of mainly foreign stamps. Lots of 3 and 4 cent postage to count along with a couple of a little better than beginner collections. Some better intermediate singles and blocks among the more common used and abused (noted a C10a, RW1, and a 1053 plate block while repacking). Probably a good idea to get a complete face count as the mint in this holding is better than one usually encounters.Cat. Value: S.B. 550.00
Price Realized: $900.00
129*oOld time collection/accumulation. The collection is mostly mint lower value singles and blocks holding commemorative, regular issue and airmails up to about 1940. Mentionable mint singles are numbers 215, 230-238, 285-290 294-299, 323-327, 330, 400, 658-679, C1, C5, and C18 with many vlh, and a very occasional item stuck down. There are a couple stockbooks of lower value issues from the same era with a little nugget sprinkled about like a C24 NH plate block. The final component is postage of the same time period show casing sheets and scrap that does get into the early 1960s with some water effects. Condition is mixed. A great prospect for exploring and remounting.Cat. Value: S.B. 500.00
Price Realized: $800.00
130*Postal stationery stock of well over 7,000 pieces firmly packed in six cover files and a banker’s box. Mostly modern well sorted in the files with face values from two cents up through 25 cents. Not all are useable, (bulk rate, non-profit, etc.) But all are collectible. The box is filled with oversized and unsorted that did not or would not fit in the files. A long look is necessary to get a handle on what to do with a lot like this. Perfect for the right person.Cat. Value: S.B. 450.00
Price Realized: $280.00
131*oP&P lot in eight bulky cartons. The first P is postage with an estimate of around $950.00 in part sheets, plate blocks, scrap and mini sheets found in the smallest box. The second P is packet stuff in hundreds of envelopes sorted according to Scott number, denomination, or year of issue. Still more is unsoaked in various places on paper, unsorted. Seven fat cartons of this fine stuff. We will not separate, you get both parts for one money. Challenging to come up with the right bid.Cat. Value: S.B. 450.00
Price Realized: $900.00
132*oUsed collection 1840-1959 in a savagely remaindered Scott Specialty album that is no longer useful. Only the empty revenue pages can be salvaged. Highlights include # 73, 116, 150, 159-160, 189-190, 210 with cert, 240, C1-C6, and a couple hundred more. Probably decent catalog, but hardly anything rare.
