111*A powerful mint collection in an unassuming Scott American album. This well balanced assembly starts quickly out of the box with 1851 issues and picks up speed in the Banknotes, cruises through the early commemoratives then into the well populated corner of the Washington Franklins and finishes nicely with the airmails and BOB. Presentation is a bit clumsy but this is countered by loads of well centered stamps. However the reverse issues range from no gum mostly in the 19th century to NH. Mentionable items are numbers 30 OG with a cert., 35, 37, 69-70, 93, 115 with cert., 116, 133, 134-135, 145-152, 158-161, 165, 186, 188-190, 208-209, 212-218, 220-229, 230-240, 244-245, 275-276, 277, 285-290, 294-299, 300-313, 323-330, 331-340, 342, 357-359, 369, 374-382, 395 pair with cert., 399, 400A, 401-403, 414-420, 422-423, 424-440, 441 pair with cert., 454 pair, 458 line pair, 462-480, 498//517, 523 regum, 524, 545-546, 551-573, 578-579, 581-591, 599A pair, 630, 634A, 658-679, 803-834, 1030-1053, C1-C6, C13, C15, C18, J18, J44, K1-K15, K17-K18, Q1-Q9, Q11, and JQ1-JQ5. 121(*)oAn old time 1847-1930 primarily used collection in two Scott “Ne Plus Ultra” albums. The better part is the used section which includes numbers 1, 70, 75-78, 90, 96-98, 100, 119, 190 x2, 191 x2, and 310-312. The mint section holds a few low value Washington Franklins, 1920’s to 1930’s regulars and commems. Unfortunately tragedy struck the mint group. The collection was exposed to a chemical fire resulting in no gum and interesting color changelings. Also a couple small boxes of used sorted in envelopes, a few covers and old reference flyers thrown in for a bonus. Still much salvageable material.Cat. Value: S.B. 950.00
