| | | Lots 1172-1189 are individual volumes from a well used but clean nine part A-Z Scott International to 1974. Each volume has all of a country’s pages interfiled and interleaved, with blank pages to hold stamps for which there were no spaces. Each volume includes thousands of mint and used stamps, with many in mounts that may be NH, numerous high values, and long sets, all owner-cataloged by country for easy sale separately. Pictures are representative of the uncommon stamps throughout, and are not necessarily the best in the book. Happy figuring. | |

| 1190 | | An incredible accumulation in 20 cartons. Most of the value (and volume) is in about 90 three-ring binders of mint British Commonwealth where the collector apparently succeeded in collecting the reign of Queen Elizabeth II complete to about 1993. Unfortunately, some (but not all) of the stamps have tape stains from sealing the ends of the dreaded clear mounts. Among the obvious better areas include Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Falklands. As we were quickly repacking this lot, we also spotted much U.S. face (and a 1053 plate block); surprisingly good Burundi from the 1960’s and 1970’s; loads of topicals including Disney and the two early Greek Olympic sets; three Irish seahorses (mint, one with tape stains); several shoeboxes of unmounted souvenir sheets; and much more. Truly a massive amount of material, ripe for breakdown into smaller units yielding good profits for the savvy marketer. | Cat. Value: S.B. 35,000.00 Price Realized: $27,000.00 |
| 1191 | | A fabulous mint and used intact collection in four volumes of mainly International pages to 1940. The collector attempted, and to a very large degree succeeded, in filling every printed space on the pages. The high values often don’t have a space and are therefore mounted in the margins. The U.S. is on National pages and thus has more open spaces than the rest of the collection, but contains plenty of solid material including good revenues. China, Russia, and Japan are among the dozens of other better countries with nearly every page full (or close to it) with useful items. The previous owner counted nearly 40,000 different stamps with a 2008 catalog value of over $150,000. Although overall condition is decent, the catalog value should be discounted a little due to some revenue cancels and occasional faults. This collection would make a very good worldwide stock or you can use the inventory breakdown in the front of each volume to sell by the country.
