COVER ACCUMULATIONS — Austria
LotConditionDescriptionValue/Bidding
112CVWorld War I postal history group of 74 different mostly POW postcards from the captured Austrian/Hungarian army on the Eastern front found burried in the Twin Pines estate. Since the Slavs and the Bohemians had status within the Russian camps they were able to get these mainly Red Cross cards out and back to their families. Many are addressed to Josef Benes important to the formation of Czechoslovakia. Great postal history from a truly chaotic time. More of these than we have seen in one place in a long time. Collectors of WWI, Russian, Czech, and Serb postal history should all have a look.Cat. Value: S.B. 400.00
Price Realized: $290.00
