1489CVThree imperf covers two with a #9 one cent and the third has a #15. One cover has a Boston postmark with a ‘Paid’ cancel on a sharp proof-like #9. The second has a Warren, Ohio Postmark Cancellation. The third cover has a #15 tied by a light ‘Paid’ cancellation and the Boston postmark is in red. The stamp is cut a little close at the right. Six additional covers and one folded letter with #24 one cent stamps and a mourning cover with an additional #26. One has a Boston postmark with a ‘Paid’ cancellation. 1490CVTwo covers from Troy, New York to Jersey, Channel Islands, Great Britain. The first with one #69 (second missing) postmarked September with a New York paid 19 red auxiliary marking. Liverpool packet handstamp (Oct. 5) and three additional handstamps on the back, London transit Oct. 6, London transit Oct. 6 and Jersey receiving Oct 7, 1863. The second cover, also to Jersey, Channel Islands has two #69 with a New York paid 19 red auxiliary mark. There is a Liverpool packet handstamp Oct. 19, and on the back a red London transit handstamp Oct. 19 and a Jersey receiving handstamp Oct.20. The third cover is an exceptional Walla Walla, Washington Territory to Londonderry, Ireland, postmarked Feb. 25 and has #78 tied by a target cancellation. There is also a three-cent additional postage red handstamp dated April 8. On the back is the Derry receiving mark dated April 21. Also included is a #69 on paper tied by a fancy cancel. Probably salvaged from the ship’s flooded mail room after her intentional beaching near the entrance of Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
