COLLECTIONS, ACCUMULATIONS, AND STOCKS — United States
LotConditionDescriptionValue/Bidding
72O*CVExtensive State Duck Stamp collection in seven heavy binders of plastic pages. Begins with the first issues and then proceeds through 2011. Way too much distracting advertising from Ebay pages through duck company fliers and pricelists almost hiding the fact of an exemplary collection on various home made pages within. Purchased both one at a time and from lists, with plenty of documentation of the amounts spent. Lots of premium items including: first editions, artist signed, governor stamps, limited editions and much more. Filled with goodies, but difficult to view so plan some time to carefully view this much better than usual collection.Cat. Value: S.B. 1250.00
Price Realized: $2,900.00
73O*One old gentleman's collection 1840-1983 in four Scott Platinum hingeless albums in slipcases. As received. Mixed mint and used. Mixed condition. Begins with a few faulty classics then on to a stronger than usual group of banknotes with a couple of 90 centers, Columbians to 50 cents, decent Washington/Franklins, Kansas/Nebraska, faulty White Plains sheet, C18 NH, plus much, much more. Lots of face to count in the last three albums in clean pages ready for additions. Also has a small box of "better" duplicates and enough old plate blocks for another face count. Plenty of value in these expensive to replace albums that deserve continuation.Cat. Value: S.B. 1200.00
Price Realized: $1,350.00
74O*One man's US collection to 1965 in an old "All American" Album. Stronger than usual classics with 90 cent banknotes and 1867s as highlights. Also includes complete mixed condition parcel post, used C1-C6 and a mint C18. Profuse webphotos help tell the story.Cat. Value: S.B. 950.00
Price Realized: $700.00
75O*Twenty huge cartons of the US runoff from a large dealer. Scores and scores of remaindered and pedestrian US mint and used collections to the tune of around 700 pounds shipping. Over $1,600 face scrap estimated in these. Devoid of most power with only the occasional surprise. Just a handful of mint sheets sprinkled throughout. Includes a full complement of souvenir pages and commemorative panels (added to the face estimate). Lots of remaindered beginner collections, but no on or off paper messes to clean up. If you have the time to remove and market the face and heavy pages, this lot is for you. This mammoth undertaking is reserved at a price to make this possible.Cat. Value: S.B. 850.00
Price Realized: $1,600.00
76O*Advanced US collector's closet clean out. Two full cartons of his duplicates, remaindered folder collections, and previous collections now all upgraded and integrated into his keeper collection. Most here are slightly remaindered and pre 1950, but with plenty of bones to pick. Includes classics, banknotes, Washington/Franklins, Kansas/Nebraska, mint White Plains sheet (disturbed gum and perf problems), and a box of 3 cent sheets to consider. Will easily upgrade most beginner collections into proudly displayed intermediate collections. Would look real nice in a set of hingeless albums.Cat. Value: S.B. 800.00
Price Realized: $2,200.00
77O*CVAll the US and related material from a small estate. Includes beginner mint and used collections to the early 2010s, a small box of plate blocks, organized used duplicates in resplendency, a box of mint sheets in large glassines, a small box of cotemporary postcards all used, and a couple handfuls of FDCs. The used collection is heavily hinged down, but the mint is in mounts along with a substantial amount of postage to count (estimated over $800 face in sheets alone). Will break down into several useful parts.Cat. Value: S.B. 750.00
Price Realized: $1,100.00
78***One man's plate block collection in five matching Plate Block albums 1932-1985. Two of the albums are parallel 1975-1983 showing different plate numbers or position. Huge catalog value especially in the 1930s. Figured here as a function of face which the owner estimates the holding at $750.00. Uncounted by us, so an inspection is necessary. Perfect for someone who wants to begin a plate block collection and wants all the mundane blocks already in their places. Clean and continuable.Cat. Value: Face 750.00
Price Realized: $550.00
79O*Small grouping of Mint and used lower and medium values in four sales books which includes a nice selection of Washington-Franklins with mint NH 338 plate imprint strip of three, 371 plate block, petite grouping of Federal Ducks of mixed condition. The better bunch is a small bundle on sales cards and a few auction pages. This group includes mint 115, 243, 387, 456 line pair with a cert., 505 with a cert., 630 NH, Q10, Q12, used 245, 292-293. There is also three volume mint block and plate block collection of little consequence thrown in for a bonus. Condition is mixed and every component needs to be figured to come up with the right number.Cat. Value: S.B. 700.00
Price Realized: $3,250.00
80PNeatly organized proof grouping sorted by plate or India paper. Includes issues up to the later Banknotes. There is some duplication and condition is mixed. Appropriate for the proof accumulator.Cat. Value: S.B. 700.00
