49(*)Before there was a Football hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, Stark county, Ohio was known as the "Cradle of Professional Football". On Wednesday, January 30, 1952 a testimonial dinner was held in the Ballroom of the Hotel Onesto to honor professional football player and "The Greatest Athlete of Our Time" Jim Thorpe. Here is one of a pair of tickets to this dinner attended by a man and his son. Both tickets were autographed by Jim Thorpe and attested to by Mr. H. O. Cain attendee.
