1024*oChina 1878-1949 valuable and attractive mint and used collection stored away twenty years ago. The group was assembled in a Scotts, Ma’s parallel order to include shades, cancels, large multiples, position multiples, plate and perf. varieties, inverted overprints, etc. Near complete minus the true rarities with many mounts unfilled due to the optimism of the collector to find all the listed items. Includes forty-one 1˘ to 5˘ Large Dragons, twenty-nine 1˘ to 5˘ Small Dragons. Mint sparklers include 78, 78b, 79, 79c, 79d, 80, 82, 84, 108-109, 120-121, 123 x 5 with a “Postage 1 Cent Paid” surcharge (all on piece and probably forgeries), 138 x2 (as is), 153d, 158-159, 173-176, 178-189, 190-201, 217-218, 236-239, 243-246 with “specimen overprints. all the 1920’s commemoratives, 267-268, all the 1930’s regular issues and commems, complete run of the airmails minus C42, six E10 strips of 5. 1025*oChina an enormous 1878-1949 Imperial and Republic mint and used accumulation of tens of thousands sorted by Scott number housed in three 3 ring binders and 13 stuffed envelope boxes. Assembled over the collector’s lifetime this monstrous group has not seen the light of day for over 20 years. Highlighted by 29 Large Dragons, well over 110 Small dragons, mint #’s 26, 35, 78 x3, 79, 80 x3, 82, 187, 199, 201, 236 x2 used #’s 20, 22 x2, 23 x2, 35, 78 x7, 79 x3, 80 x5, 82, 189, 219 x2. Also there are hundreds of low value Coiling Dragons, surcharged Coiling Dragons and Junks picked for shades and cancels. Followed by dozens of 1920’s to 1940’s commemoratives and regular issues, huge amounts of 1942-1943 provincial surcharges and post war inflation era surcharges. Rounding out this grouping are airmails, postage dues, 1N’s through 9N’s, and 1920’s to 1940’s issues with the various provincial surcharges. Condition is mixed. 1026*oCVChina original holding chiefly on Scott Specialty pages. Begins with some dubious early (used #142) and evolves into mint around 1957 and follows through to 1986 in two binders. Highlights include mint #960-962, 963-970, 1091a (all three sheets), 1135-1136, 1355-1358, 1414-1417, 1479-1482, and many others. The rest of the carton is filled with miscellaneous revenues, covers, pamphlets, etc. in a small box. Thousands of stamps in better than average condition. 1035*oCVChina (PRC) original collection in three like new Vostok (Sinjuku, Japan Publishing Co.) albums. Begins with Scott #1 and is mounted in the albums to 1983 with a few later issues loose. Volume 1 starts with early selections of reprints up to 1955 then the highlights begin with used (CTO) #245a-248a, 344a, 357a, 506-517, 542-559, 615-617, 620-627, 661-680, 716-731, 767-781, 798b, 842-849, 863-873, 924-926, 927-929, 930-935, and then mint #1005-1006, 1047-1052, 1054-1057, 1074a, 1076-1079, 1084-1089, 1095-1098 and much more. Volume 2 continues the value with mint #1090-1094, 1099-1102, 1104-1107, 1108-1113,1143-1154, 1211-1214, 1383a, 1389-1398, 1398a, 1423-1432, 1433, 1452, 1483, 1492, 1497, 1501, 1518 NH, 1540, 1541, 1573, 1586, 1613-1617, 1645a-1646a, with lots more. It appears that most of the souvenir sheets were placed in mounts and/or protective corners, so plenty of NH is possible while the sets and singles are carefully hinged to the pages.
