708CVFDCAccumulation stored since 1971 of what looks to be well over 4,000 assorted 1930s to 1970s first day and event covers in 12 cartons. Many are still in the original inventoried mailings from the cachetmakers, and others are in small unsorted bundles apparently as purchased and put away. We noted significant numbers of Fluegel patriotics, Pent Arts #10s, Cachetcraft sets, plus Fulton, Fidelity, Farnam, Crosby, Artmaster, Artcraft and others, most as pristine as received. Included are inaugurations, stamp shows, first flights, and other events, but also many uncacheted covers throughout. A couple of cartons worth of UN, Canada, Canal Zone, and other countries are also present. Better items include US 834, 855, C18, etc. Duplication throughout like six UN 38s is likely to be found as you triage these boxes and turn up surprises from this original hoard.Cat. Spotted was a small cover album with a 1912 2˘ College Postage from St. Johns VT, 1946 cacheted Atomic Bomb Bikini Atoll US Navy Fleet PO, US #20 plate 2 Utica, NY Lodge 1858, US #115 6˘ advertising Eureka Smut Machine Silver Creek, NY, 20 German East Africa postcards and postcards with stamps. Stretching from 1896 to 1990s most of these covers are a compliment to the collector’s “maps on stamps” collection. Includes 1933 US First Flight to Haiti autographed by J. Erroll Boyd the “Lindbergh of Canada” who was the first Canadian to fly across the Atlantic, Spanish Andorra postcard with #49 and, China/Formosa 1955 mulitfranking maps.
