COLLECTIONS & ACCUMULATIONS — United States and General Foreign
LotConditionDescriptionValue/Bidding
869*oLast minute arrival off the desk of a proficient stamper is this large pile of glassines, “102” size cards, small stocksheets, etc. The previous owner was a “cherry picker” who bought large estates over the years and put something away that was “good” from each transaction. What you have now is an aggregation of several hundred units each worth mentioning in a collection. Every part catalogs several dollars to hundreds of dollars each. Mixed condition, as found, totally uncataloged by us. Definite “Bonanza” to any world collector or dealer offered at a small fraction of its total value. Philatelic “honey hole” prospecting at its finest.Cat. Value: S.B. 9,000.00
Price Realized: $6,000.00
870*oCollection to 1893 in a two volume Universal-Permanent Lietzow album set from 1894. The albums are in remarkable condition for their age. Volume I has binding problems while Volume II is basically intact. The collection has been remaindered in the 1920s but many country groups remain as they were collected. The Europe is by far the strongest area with Asia right up there too. Condition is average for the classic era with many faults noticed. Best countries include Austria, Germany, France, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, China, and Japan. If you are looking for a classic old time collection this one’s for you.Cat. Value: S.B. 3,500.00
Price Realized: $4,500.00
871*oCVAccumulation as received in nine large heavy cartons. Could easily have been broken down into smaller parts, but this late arrival is offered intact. Highlights include a two volume hingeless US collection, with more stamps awaiting placement in stockbooks than inside, a few old foreign collections, boxes of mixed foreign, a couple of boxes of mint US along with a stockbook or two and even one old $1,000.00 Confederate bond. Also includes lots of covers, a small group of interesting postal stationery, some ugly shoebox lots, and a box of US on “102” size cards. Tremendous value when broken down into smaller saleable sections.Cat. Value: S.B. 2,200.00
Price Realized: $1,600.00
872*oCVConsignment as received in two larger size stockbooks and a pair of small pizza size boxes housed in a large carton. The bulk of the value is found in one of the two worldwide stockbooks. Highlights include US used #155, 218, 243 on piece, various banknotes with destination cancels, plus numerous other classics such as used high catalog Great Britain, Netherlands, German states, Australian states, Canada and others. Huge catalog value enhanced by several covers. The rest of the lot, although interesting, (one pizza box is filled with low face value US face) is just an “also ran” in comparison. Slow perusal could be to your advantage.Cat. Value: S.B. 2,000.00
Price Realized: $1,600.00
873*oAccumulation of better items cherry picked from old collections and gathered into small high catalog country groups in a skinny stockbook. Condition and wishful thinking cataloging make some of the listed values suspect, but good value throughout. Better groups include French Colonies, Hong Kong, Canada (includes #21-30 used), Great Britain, AMG-FTT, and just enough US to get it into this category. Worth a studious look.Cat. Value: S.B. 1,800.00
Price Realized: $1,150.00
874*oAccumulation with well over 500 unpicked “102” size cards never placed into stock. Good Baltics, Western Europe, Russia and more. Clean and fresh looking material, plenty of value for the collector or dealer.Cat. Value: cat. 11,660.00
Price Realized: $1,700.00
875*oCarton lot with all sorts of unconnected but decent material. Best is a box of a couple hundred modern booklets and booklet panes roughly sorted into areas. Face value is notable in the US, Great Britain, and France sections. Also impressive is the group of four “red boxes” packed with mint sets and singles on hundreds of “102” and “104” size cards. Roughly sorted by area and exhibiting moderate duplication. Will need considerable work to ready them for sale. Lots of useful material at a good price.Cat. Value: S.B. 1,500.00
Price Realized: $1,150.00
876*oBalance of a large important estate packed into four large heavy cartons. Includes nine clean Scott Specialty albums to around 1970 of various countries and areas, the majority only sparsely filled. The exceptions are India, Straits Settlements and area, and Mexico containing better beginner and intermediate collections. Best of all is a Scott Specialty US collection (a few nicer classics and a mint C18) and then a back of the book interesting holding of revenues. Also joined by three binders of US FDCs, a volume or two of a “sand dunes” collection, a shoebox of US precancels, a couple of old world remainder collections and a box of miscellaneous stamps. Good heavy duty project for the upcoming season.Cat. Value: S.B. 1,250.00
Price Realized: $4,000.00
877*oAccumulation in 14 heavy cartons. Consisting of thousands of US and foreign stamps in albums and binders. Highlights include a two volume Elvis Presley collection, around $400.00 face value US postage, etc. Perfect lot for resale. Examine closely as you might be surprised by what you might find.Cat. Value: S.B. 1,000.00
Price Realized: $650.00
878*oRemainder lot in three large cartons. Contains stockbooks, collections, singles and booklets in various pockets of organization. Highlights include good Hong Kong from early overprints to modern mint, US and foreign booklets with countable face value, a Cook Islands collection, a huge box of 1970s Canada on and off paper, a few FDCs, and a stockbook of US face. Nothing exciting just a good solid lot.Cat. Value: S.B. 1,000.00
Price Realized: $750.00
879*oCVConsignment as received filling 8 various size cartons. Wide variety of mostly lower end material. The stand out is a Germany states collection with a high stated catalog value. Also includes stockbooks, neanderthal collections, some mint NH Great Britain sorted in glassines, commercial covers, loose on and off paper, etc. Needs sorting.Cat. Value: S.B. 800.00
Price Realized: $700.00
880*oConsignment balance in two cartons. Includes a two volume UN collection in a Scott Specialty album, a JFK collection, stamps mounted on a variety of album pages, on old salespages, in glassines and loose. This group has been sitting for several decades and some better items were spotted so careful examination is recommended.Cat. Value: S.B. 800.00
Price Realized: $2,100.00
881*oTail end of a large and valuable consignment in 11 large heavy cartons. Highlights include an extensive UN collection to around 1990 with stationery and FDCs, a minor accumulation of US covers, bureau cards, postal bulletins, some messy on paper accumulations, a few stockbooks, an empty album or two, and just enough good stamps spread throughout to warrant a look.Cat. Value: S.B. 750.00
Price Realized: $500.00
882*oAccumulation in over 30 assorted stockbooks, plus various boxes and glassines in six cartons. Many tens of thousands of familiar stamps are generally sorted by country, with a third of the books being Germany, one being US, and the rest mostly from other major countries including China and Japan. You will find a small armload of useful foreign catalogs, a small handful of US postage, and occasional interesting items.Cat. Value: S.B. 750.00
Price Realized: $2,000.00
883*oEight large cartons just as they came to us labeled “Jerry’s floor sweepings”. They are filled with stockbooks, a “102” size cardstock, stockbooks, etc. We didn’t look at it much, maybe you should.Cat. Value: S.B. 700.00
Price Realized: $750.00
884*oFive different “Old Brownie” Scott albums from a “19th Century” all the way up through a “Part Four”. Better than average condition for these with several entirely intact. Stamps are more plentiful than sparse but are probably measured in the hundreds. Enough surprises and shelf worthy albums give this lot plenty of possibilities.Cat. Value: S.B. 700.00
Price Realized: $500.00
885*oSix carton aggregation containing the leftovers from a large estate. Little if any postage to count but with lots of bulk. Stacks and binders of souvenir pages, 15 or so counterbooks and stockbooks of various semi sorted US mostly used, some precancels, FDC ceremonial folders, loose stamps and in glassines. Some foreign mish mash and a one cent National Parks sheet round out the lot. Examination is a must for an accurate evaluation.Cat. Value: S.B. 700.00
Price Realized: $950.00
886*oCVConsignment remainder in two cartons. Includes lots of Cinderellas, revenues and ephemera which is primarily European. Also about a thousand US 1st days cacheted, uncacheted, addressed and unaddressed and finally a stock of moderate quantities of unlisted souvenir sheets and sheetlets from Ozbekistan. Good eBay potential.Cat. Value: S.B. 600.00
Price Realized: $290.00

Huge original subscriber outlay. No fair using steroids during the training for ownership of this lot. Well worth the effort for the merchant of this muscleman material.Cat. Value: S.B. 550.00
Price Realized: $475.00
888*oConsignment remainder consisting of a stock on “102” size salescards housed in six red boxes, a starter Australia collection in a clean Scott Specialty official album, a Russia collection plus Canadian and US press sheets just to make shipping difficult.Cat. Value: S.B. 550.00
