1049*oCVGermany and area portion of a large estate with tremendous power in states and colonies. Mixed condition with many dubious and suspect filling spaces in an excellent advanced collection that took a lifetime to assemble. Begins with an extensive states collection with many highlights which include Bavaria used 1, 29, 76-91, Bremen 1 with a 1949 cert, Wurttemberg 6, 29, 53, etc. plus NGC complete. The colonies section is one of the more complete collections seen in quite a while with premium items in abundance. Cameroons, Caroline Islands, GEA, German New Guinea, German South West Africa, Kiauchau, Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, Samoa, Togo, and all the offices are especially strong. Also includes Danzig (47 used, mint 48), Saar mint (38-39 B64a, CB1a), General Government, and some WWII occupations of considerable note. Far from complete but plenty of highlights such as good states like Bavaria, Prussia, Hanover, Thurn and Taxis, offices, and NGC all strong, decent eagles and shields, an abundance of better mint souvenir sheets (IPOSTA, Ostropa, 9NB3a, DDR 264a, and Saar B64a) plus C38-C39, all three bell sets, set of red Berlin overprints, UPU set, various postwar semipostal sets and DDR Mao set. Highlights include Germany mint 665-666, 669 x2, 678, 681, B334-B337 x3, and used B325-B326, B327-B330, Berlin 9N70-9N74, 9N75-9N79, 9N94-9N98, 9N120-9N136 x5, Saar 226, 265-266, B76, B84-B88 all mint and then mint DDR 82-84 x2, B21a, etc. Many more than expected of the mint are NH making this an excellent lot to consider breaking into stock. 1053*oGermany and area collection to around 1976 in two clean Scott Specialty albums custom organized for a collector. No DDR and limited Berlin, but strength protrudes throughout. Bavaria is best in the states group. Emphasis is on used with many complete sets in the hundreds of stamps that are included. Does contain used 65, 65A, airmail sets and postwar semipostals that are well worth consideration. Fun lot to poke through slowly to uncover the hidden treasures.Cat. Value: S.B. 2,200.00

Mixed mint and used, a collector legacy with strong states, Germany empire through republic, Berlin, colonies and occupation issues. In the states section Bavaria, Hanover, Schleswig-Holstein plus Thurn and Taxis are the highlights with many high catalog sets and singles. Strong eagles and shields, along with a few mint sets from the 1920-1933 period show a strong Germany proper section. Includes a mint “posthorn” set and better post WWII commemoratives. Begins with various Zones of 1946-1948 then jumps back to the Third Reich with charity semipostals predominate. Moves again forward through the other zones and finishes with offices and occupation issues. Strong throughout often with duplicates of premium items. Highlights include mint 585A-593, 593A-599, B33, B49-B57, B58, B68 (no gum), 10NB11 and used B33, B49-B57, B68a-B68d, C42, C43-C45, 10NB11, etc. Many surprises to be unearthed in this original holding.Cat.
