COVERS — United States & General Foreign
LotConditionDescriptionValue/Bidding
937CVBox of over 500 assorted mostly US covers and cards, generally 1880’s-1940’s, all sleeved and priced at over $7,000.00 retail. We noted commercial, advertising, patriotic, flight, event, etc. with a variety of attractive cancels, frankings and auxiliary markings. The best we found was a Blood’s Penny Post, and we suggest flipping through the entire box as many specialist cover collectors could make finds here.Cat. Value: S.B. 1,450.00
Price Realized: $900.00
938CVZeppelin collection of 35 covers and cards on pages, often extensively annotated. Includes eleven USA, eight Germany, six Liechtenstein, and ten from six other European countries. A wide variety of flights, frankings, and markings make for interesting viewing.Cat. Value: S.B. 1,000.00
Price Realized: $1,700.00
939CVUS and general foreign accumulation of maybe a couple thousand covers in two large cartons. Some are run of the mill dollar table covers but occasionally a better one peeks through. Includes a bunch of interesting WWII covers from occupied Czechoslovakia. Also noticed useful ones from Latvia, Poland, Rattlesnake Island and Great Britain. Some have been written up which will make them easy to organize and sell. A quick peek wouldn’t hurt.Cat. Value: S.B. 700.00
Price Realized: $550.00
940CVUS and general foreign accumulation of covers from a long time dealer’s back room in three cartons. Several thousand covers in all that run the gamut from US FDC and first flights through foreign commercial mail and correspondence. Mostly dollar table fare, but should be sorted to remove the better that are still contained. Fun for the postal history collector and profitable for a dealer.Cat. Value: S.B. 450.00
Price Realized: $2,700.00
