COLLECTIONS AND ACCUMULATIONS — United States & General Foreign
LotConditionDescriptionValue/Bidding
1067*oCVAmazing collection of Scott #1 stamps from almost 100 countries, colonies and states. All from the mid-19th century, they are mint and/or used and mounted on stockpages with historical annotations. In addition, some are in multiples and/or on cover. A very small stockbook holds around 150 19th and 20th century Scott #1 stamps which either duplicate the mounted issues or are of lesser value. A very nice example of this popular specialty.Cat. Value: S.B. 3,750.00
Price Realized: $6,500.00
1068*oUnusually useful A-Z dealer stock neatly worked up in 63 red boxes of “102” size cards. Runs from some #1’s, through much 19th century, up to just 1949, and includes seldom seen countries and issues. Generally manageable duplication and needs only to be priced to be ready to go. Worth spending substantial viewing time while others wait their turn.Cat. Value: S.B. 3,250.00
Price Realized: $3,750.00
1069*oFour well balanced Minkus Global Internationals with stamps into the early 1960’s. Strength in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Korea and BAT. Also includes helpful Great Britain, Channel Islands, India and other pockets of value. Inspection invited.Cat. Value: S.B. 2,400.00
Price Realized: $1,700.00
1070*oWell used collection of tens of thousands of stamps in 31 dilapidated albums from 1840 to 1990, mostly Scott Internationals. Books are falling apart, with pages and stamps falling out including those loose between the pages. We didn’t notice much in the way of sets or better singles, but there sure are a lot of stamps needing a new home.Cat. Value: S.B. 2,000.00
Price Realized: $3,000.00
1071*oAccumulation of albums in two large cartons. Begins with a pedestrian US collection in four Lindner albums to the 1980’s. Other highlights include a hingeless Davo France collection to 1970, a Minkus loose leaf Vatican collection to 1990, a collection of Russia to 1988, a Minkus DDR to 1988 and three sticky Lindner volumes of Germany 1960-1990. Each of the collections contains hundreds of stamps and could almost stand alone in the auction. Ready to be recycled as individual lots.Cat. Value: S.B. 1,250.00
Price Realized: $1,250.00
1072*oCVConsignment balance in seven boxes. Strongest for the US which incorporates plate blocks, postage and moderately interesting covers. Next is Asia which is likeable for some better values and sets from Indonesia, Vietnam and British colonies. The rest is over a half dozen general collections plus file folders with large items and a few thousand commercial covers for their topicals. A very mixed lot which needs sorting.Cat. Value: S.B. 1,100.00
Price Realized: $1,600.00
1073*oLot withdrawnCat. Value: $0.00
Price Realized: $0.00
1074*oConsignment as received in a small carton. Highlighted by stamps sorted by country right off the pages of a PM mount collection all carefully and hopefully cataloged by the owner, the remainder of a mint UPU 1949 collection, some US face from the 1940’s through 1950’s, a small bunch of modern postage to count and three small boxes of miscellaneous. High catalog value if the count was accurate but to be sure they must be removed from the mounts. High upside potential with the possibility of NH finds.Cat. Value: S.B. 1,000.00
Price Realized: $550.00
1075*oDealer counterbook with 39 better mint and used sets and singles. Strongest in Greece, Germany and US, with about a dozen other countries represented. Easy to figure and available at a reasonable percentage of catalog value.Cat. Value: S.B. 950.00
