COLLECTIONS AND ACCUMULATIONS — United States
LotConditionDescriptionValue/Bidding
816*oAn outstanding 1847-1990 mint and used collection hinged in two Scott albums. The collector had an eye for centering so presentation remains very consistent throughout the group which is accompanied by 16 certificates. Starts out as a used through # 278 then turns mint with a good balance of early regular and commemorative issues, well endowed Washington Franklins, pleasing airmails, and BOB however there are just a few officials and newspapers with no revenues except for the ducks. Better used are 9X1, 1-2, 8A with cert., 12, 14-15, 16 with cert., 22, 29, 67, 72, 85E with cert., 91 with cert., 92-98, 100, 120-121, 145-155, 166, 182-191, 217-218, 230-241, 242 with cert., 276-276A, 278. The long list of mint includes 3-4, 300-310, 315 pr., 323-330, 331-342, 369, 374-379, 381-382, 397-399, 400 w/ cert., 401-403, 404 with cert., 414-417, 419-420, 423 with cert., 438 with cert., 475-476, 478, 480, 500 with cert., 501-504,506-518, 524, 547, 551-573, 581-591, 599A pr., 630, 634A, 658-679, C1-C6, C18, E1-E3, E4 withCat. Value: S.B. 7,000.00
Price Realized: $23,000.00
817*oDealer stock of mint and used singles and sets worked up on new salespages in 15 small salesbooks. Includes defins/commems (5), BOB (4), PBs (3), and hunting (3). This lot would supplement your stock to varying degrees with its uneven duplication. Also condition is very mixed, with both very fresh and below par copies, so a complete survey is recommended to appropriately discount the owner’s retail.Cat. Value: S.B. 3,500.00
Price Realized: $2,300.00
818*oA long-time dealer is in the middle of gradual retirement and consigned his sixteen small counterbooks of United States stamps. This stock includes mint and used, front and back of the book, U.S. Possessions, cut squares, revenues, and more. Condition varies wildly from downright dogs to VF and most of the high catalog items have either faults or less than desirable centering. Still, there is a ton of value here for the clever marketer with such highlights as (all used) 404, C13, R86c x 4, R149, and RS112 (damaged). There is extensive mint, including NH as well. Lastly, the seventeenth book is U.N., which adds almost nothing to the estimate or value. Large profits available at our suggested bid.Cat. Value: S.B. 2,700.00
Price Realized: $1,600.00
819*oAn impressive predominately mint collection that has not seen the light of day for over 30 years. The assembly is very light until the last Banknote series. After that almost every space is filled up to the 1950’s minus the very expensive items. Early commems up to the 50¢ value, well rounded Washington-Franklins, airmails, early postage dues, Shanghai overprints and postage types. Noteworthy mint are 63, 68, 215-218, 219-229, 276, 285-290, 323-330, 369, 424-441, 479, 523-524, 547, 570-573, 658-679, 630 with perf separation, C1-C6, C18, J22-J27 and K1-K15. Condition and centering is very mixed. The reverse is simple, they are all hinged (no gum also noted) either lightly or unfortunately heavy resulting in a few being stuck down. Remounting, reassembling and expanding would be beneficial.Cat. Value: S.B. 2,300.00
Price Realized: $3,750.00
820(*)oCompact accumulation of 19th century mostly used with many high cataloging items. Worth mentioning are 1, 13 with cert, 17 24 x 24, 28, 62B, 72 x 2, a few shades of 78, 84? (as is), 86, 89, 90, 95, 98, 100, 118 x 2, 153 with cert, 155, 162 with cert, 217 with cert, 242, and 2910292. A few mint items are 68, 76, 98 and PR6 all no gum. There are also dozens of other stamps cataloging in the $200.00 range, some with certs. Condition is an issue with much off centered or faulty. However, our suggested bid takes it into account. Good profits here for eBay.Cat. Value: S.B. 2,300.00
