COLLECTIONS AND ACCUMULATIONS — Germany and Areas
LotConditionDescriptionValue/Bidding
933*oGermany & Areas extremely extensive original collection through the 1950’s in Scott Specialized Parts I & II. Includes nearly solid mixed mint and used empire, republic, allied occupation, offices, states, colonies, occupations, and plebiscites. In addition to nearly all of the better early issues, souvenir sheets, zeppelins, overprints, post war commemoratives, etc., varieties are in the margins, and covers etc. are on facing pages. Also includes a stockbook full of mint and used setenant, tete-beche, and other position multiples up to full sheets. A wonderful collection with more material than usually seen and extra value throughout.Cat. Value: S.B. 5,500.00
Price Realized: $9,500.00
934*oGermany and Areas collection in two spring back albums. Starts with good material from the empire period, several mint sets from the 1920’s-1930, souvenir sheets including mint OSTROPA and the good Anniversary sheet along with strong semipostals and airs. Also impressive Berlin. This is not to be missed.Cat. Value: S.B. 3,750.00
Price Realized: $2,700.00
935*oGermany and Areas extensive collection from the Carbondale estate in three Specialty albums. The states are rather modest (but include a few covers). The Germany proper is highly complete, missing most of the early shields and the higher priced items. What is here is mostly mixed mint and used to about 1980, then mint to 2003. Better items include (mint) B33 and B49-B57 plus post-war regulars and semis. The airs are complete mixed mint and used and the occupation issues are extensive. The Areas include solid offices abroad and good colonies with lots of yacht issues. The collection ends with a group of mint and used stationery with some interesting pieces. Overall condition is quite acceptable although there are surely some faults in a collection this size. Another nice collection for which inspection is cordially invited.Cat. Value: S.B. 3.250.00
Price Realized: $3,000.00
936*oGermany and Areas accumulation mostly in two stockbooks. Includes some better souvenir sheets, some early items with certs, and multiples and dups., even of better items, but it is strongest in inflation issue varieties. We recommend turning most every page since specialist items could be anywhere.Cat. Value: S.B. 950.00
Price Realized: $700.00
937*oGermany and Areas accumulation in stockbooks, quadrille pages and miscellaneous. Good empire material including covers, Third Reich and a few sets from the colonies with additional surprises along the way. A good lot to dig through.Cat. Value: S.B. 900.00
Price Realized: $500.00
938*oGermany and Areas about a dozen collections of various degrees. The nicest ones are a two volume mostly mint NH collection of Berlin in a hingeless KABE album and a mostly mint NH DDR collection in a Lindner hingeless album. Others have useful pockets of value from the states, plebicites and Germany itself.Cat. Value: S.B. 800.00
Price Realized: $650.00
939*oGermany and Areas collection on Minkus Specialized pages. The Germany consists of empire to 3rd Reich singles, sets, and coil strips, and Bundespost booklets. Just about all occupation areas are included, with many mint sets, printing varieties, and other specialist items. These more unusual items are worth a look, and remounting is in order.Cat. Value: S.B. 800.00
Price Realized: $650.00
