COLLECTIONS AND ACCUMULATIONS — France and Colonies
LotConditionDescriptionValue/Bidding
1290*o?France and Colonies very fresh collection generally to 1977, with some countries into the 1980s, hinged into seven like-new Scott Specialty albums. Includes many mint or used 19th century overprints and keyplates, then mostly mint with many of the long pictorial sets and a few modern proofs and imperfs. France is nicely represented through the entire period starting all used and ending all mint. With nearly every page populated, this is a wonderful collection to continue.Cat. Value: S.B. 10,500.00
Price Realized: $7,500.00
1291**France and Colonies group of thousands on Scott Advantage” blank stockpages, stored in large recycled manila envelopes. Each envelope contains one or more countries with mostly sets that appear to be all NH. Probably 90% of the value is in the various colonies, beginning in the 1950s. A fresh, clean lot of popular material that will be easy to process or to build upon.Cat. Value: $20,400.00
Price Realized: $4,000.00
1292*oFrance and Colonies collection of few thousand in five Scott Specialty albums. France proper is the better part. It starts with the classics and goes through about 1970 with most spaces filled (although not always with the correct stamp). Condition of the early issues is mixed, becoming progressively better moving forward. Mostly used at the beginning and more unused after 1920 with a number of better issues including (used) 37 and C17, (mint) B19, B34, C8-C13, and C27. The Colonies reside in the other four albums and, while not quite at the level of the mother country, have several pockets of value such as (mint) New Caledonia 182-207 and St. Pierre and Miquelon 1-4. Worth a quick look.Cat. Value: S.B. 850.00
Price Realized: $2,500.00
