The assembly is well endowed with 1850Õs and 1860Õs issues, 1869Õs, Banknotes including all the 90¢ values (minus the grill issue) early and later commems, well populated Washington Franklins, yet there are not any coils, and just a touch of airmails with no B.O.B. 840*oA powerful old time 19th century collection mounted on homemade pages. The deep used section includes #1 x2, 2, 12, 13-15, 17-18, 19 (pen cancel, w/ tear), 20 x 2, 21 (pen cancel), 22, 27/30A, 31, 37, 62B, 64, 72, 75, 86/100, 113-117, 119-122, 148/155, 156/166, 182/191, and 218-219. The smaller mint part holds #30 NG, 36 OG, 38 NG, 112 OG, and 210-215 OG. There is a tiny group of proofs from the same issues where you will find 3P4, 4P4, 40P4-47P4, and 63P4/72P4. Also within there is a very small assembly of locals, officials, revenues, and postal currency that will add a little flavor. Last, but not least, a bit of Canada and Newfoundland bring up the rear and adds just few dollars to the bottom line. As you might expect with a group that is Òlong in the toothÓ, condition is quite mixed but you will find a fair amount of fine or better copies. A collection ideal to build upon.Cat. 844*oAn original holding from ÒThe great state of TexasÓ. This 19th and 20th century mint and used, singles, blocks and plate block assembly has not seen the light of day for many years. Highlights of the singles are used 18, 28, 29, and 67, mint 30A, 36B, 37-38 and 1518b line pair. In the blocks you will find 399 x 2, 400, 473 and 571. Plate blocks worth mentioning are 289 (major separation), 465, 536, C6 and C21-C22. Also coming along for the ride is an elementary plate block collection, a tiny group of old foreign stamps, reference books, etc.. Condition is mixed with both NH and OG present.
