710FDCFirst day cover devotee’s original collection of well over 3,000 different. All are mounted in an overlapping style with photo corners in 32 mostly older White Ace binders. While they run from 1926 to 1961, only about half are before 1955 with half after. Includes mostly uncacheted to the 1930s, then cacheted addressed, PAE, or unaddressed, typically with four to eight covers for each later issue. Generally includes popular monocolor cachets, with Boll and Fluegel multicolored, franked with singles, blocks, and sometimes plate blocks for each issue. Earlier issues have a smaller number of different cachetmakers to identify, with some coming in sets. This collection is also accompanied by a shoebox of yet to be mounted items. 713CVThematic advertising cover collection in a large 3 ring stockbook containing over 90 covers mostly dealing with oil companies. The best are the dozen or so early corner ads touting all sorts of oil including farm, kerosene, leather hide, vacuum, petroleum, naptha, lamp, lubricating, illuminative, lard, sperm, benzole, and burning. Enough covers for an exhibit or a retail stock. Along for the ride are a bunch of other covers (uncounted) that do little to increase the value.
