Fills 42 three ring binders of around 4,000 covers and many hundred cut squares organized alphabetically from Abertham to Zwug with many in between. Many are philatelic and often dubious single handback 3pf uses, but probably the most complete assembly of these to be found on the market today. Totally unsearched for better towns and as complete as received. Also included in the count are three binders of unsorted covers with feldpost, tax percue, and ship cancels noted. 746CVGermany Soviet zone Michel# 195a in combination with the Zschopau overprint forgery both in tied blocks of four on an overfranked cover. Produced to defraud the post office these were found in a post office in the town of Zschopau (Saxony) only after numerous examples were sold to the public. This cover is registered carrying proper cancels and backstamps. The 1991 GPS certificate states “genuinely used”. The enclosed note includes “probably unique”, “illustrate it in the GPS reference Manual of Forgeries”, and “indeed a rare item” as descriptions. Value at the time of certification was figured at $2,500.00. An important properly documented showpiece of postal history.Cat. Value: S.B. 750.00
