From beginning to the end each item has been carefully annotated with a Scott number, horizontal and vertical measurement, and whether it is a full corner. Faults have also been pointed out. Fills six large cartons on fairly organized flats containing mostly entires that have been soft cataloged by us to determine a baseline value. Begins with #W20 and proceeds through UC52 many in multiples. Highlights include W20 x20, W21 x17, W46 x2, W47 x5, W50 x17, W53 x7, W54 x13, W57 x7, with many of these earlies showing varieties, W148 x17, W155 x8, W269 x7, W376 x3, W405 x115, W427 x18, W235 x6, W434 x22, etc. Not all listed. Many opportunities exist to make a find. Noticed all sorts of variations for the specialist including albinos, glazed paper, all sorts of color variations, mis-cut airletter sheets, freaks, errors, die breaks, private letter sheets, postal buddies in multiples and even a owner described U16b entire. 729*oCVPowerful postalcard and reply card accumulation from the Thomas Woolley holding that was scheduled to be filed into his main inventory. Starts with over 225 Scott type PC1 (UX1-UX3) that need to be watermarked and flows in thousands of cards in nine small ultra heavy cartons up through the bundled sets of the early 2000’s. Mint highlights include a UX8 color study that includes the “dark chocolate”, UX8 x30, UX11 x2, UX12 x2, UX14 x4, UX15 x2, UX18 x9, UX20 x30, UX23a, UX23e, UX29 x2, UX32 x13, UY1 x38, UY2 x3, UY4 x13, etc. Also contains multitudes of used that are not figured in the $8,600.00 catalog found in a small box in carton #1. Most of the value will be found in carton #1 and #2 with the other seven containing many multiples of postage types that also need consideration. Noticed fancy cancels, varieties, identified fly specks, cancel groups and three gold wash advertising cards. Ranges from sorted and identified to rough sorted ready for identification. The twelve heavy cartons probably contain few if any “finds”, just a strong backstock. Did notice some pockets of better intermediate values in Scott types U76, U86, U89, U91, U93, the overprints of the 1920’s, U94, U95, etc. Also included in the over 7,000 items are a few officials and US possessions (like a mint attached but folded Hawaii UY1).
