A majority are Scott C6 to C10 (over twenty C6’s) with a few later issues, some duplication. There is one franked with C1-C5 set three franked with C6-C10 set. 688CVGerman and French old time original mounted collection of covers showing the postal transition of various French towns to German towns in 1870 after the Franco Prussian War, and then back to French towns in 1918 after WWI. Includes maybe a couple thousand fully annotated SFLs, folded letters, postalcards, PPCs, and commercial covers from the mid 19th century to 1920, plus many hundred mounted stamps with similar legible cancels. Alphabetized by town in 37 original French binders, includes ordinary, provisional, dual, RPO, and HPO cancels, censored and registry markings, etc. on both domestic and international correspondences.
