Many 1955-1957 done by an old Navy man who became interested in the territory during WWII. It was his goal to secure a postmark from every town and hamlet that had a postal cancellation device. He wrote to the postmasters who would then send him a readable cancellation, often a Doane type, on cover back to him. Often they would autograph and include information about their village. Also included are over 50 WWII censored covers APOs etc. along with a couple back to 1902.
