Our History
Rasdale Stamp Company’s first auction was held by its founder Joseph Rasdale in 1932 while living in the mini stamp Mecca, Elsie Michigan. After Joe’s death in 1958 his sons Jim and Dick took over the company continuing to hold auctions in Detroit until moving to Chicago in 1967. They started to add more staff in the 1970s. Linda, their sister joined in 1972 as the office manger and describer.
The 1980s began another expansion period with the addition of the grandsons Kim Kellermann as a United States describer and his brother Kevin a foreign describer. Upon retirement of Jim, Dick, and Linda in 2002 Kim and Kevin took over the firm and moved to its present location in Westmont.
Employees
Today you will find Kim and Kevin in the offices writing up material or on the road buying a large collection or acquiring an estate for consignment for the next public auction. Kristin, Kim and Kevin’s sister runs the day to day operations with support of their mother Joanne.
